How to update Linux Debian packages


Hello everyone, Welcome to Shiva Technic World, you might be using Linux old packages and you might be don't know to update the Linux Debian package or You are a beginner in Linux Debian then this tutorial is for you!

In this tutorial I am going to show you how to update LInux Debian packages.

Updating packages is required for increasing security, getting new features, improving the package and much more!

So without wasting much time let's check how to update Linux Debian packages!

How to update Linux Debian packages?

  • First of all, open the Terminal in your Debian or Debian-based Linux OS

  • Then type the following command in Terminal to get the update and press Enter

    • sudo apt update

  • Finally type the following command to upgrage the package

    • sudo apt upgrade

    It may be ask like "Do you want to continue? [Y/n]" if it shows like this then type "Y" and click Enter!


    Now it will take some time like if you have much packages to update then it take much time, if you have some packages only then it will complete with some time!
